The main event of the card promises to be exceptional as former undefeated featherweight champion Ilia Topuria takes on former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira.
The lightweight title is vacant following the move up of Ilia Topuria, who decided to move up from featherweight (145 lbs) to lightweight (155 lbs) after successfully defending his title against Max Holloway. He then vacated his featherweight belt to continue his legacy in the higher weight class.
Meanwhile, Islam Makhachev recently announced his intention to move up to welterweight (170 lbs), vacating the lightweight title. This decision paved the way for a fight for the vacant title between Ilia Topuria and Charles Oliveira at UFC 317.
